Choice of digital box for MF AI and AIS lenses
« le: 19 Juin, 2019, 19:43:48 pm »
I love film photography but I really want to put my MF lenses with a good digital camera (it's the least we can expect from a "big" brand like Nikon). Which box advise you to value them and to avoid any problem of compatibility. Is the future D300 a good candidate?

Thank you for your answers,

Bonjour,

Il me semble que le D300 a rien de future.

Cordialement.

Any Nikon DSLR is compatible with AIS lenses, the only difference between body's is the ability to confirm focusing and the aperture priority mode.
All medium or high end models such as D7000 and D800 series, possesses such capabilities, that's also the case of the D750, D5 and D500
( which came out in 2016 with the D5, and is basically a bup up D300S, but with the auto focus capabilities and reactivity of the D5, inside a D810 body )
I have one, and it works flawlessly with AIS lenses.

Any other Nikon cameras who came out after 2016, ( except the D5000 and D3000 series ), could also do the job, including the Z6 and Z7, which offers the benefit of being compatible with any other manual lens, including Canon FD's.
