Apologies if this was addressed already, but I had a hard time finding a search option.

With my old D300 I could choose between MTP and MSC, leaving me great flexibility. The D800 seems to have done away with that choice, which means that softwares like Lightroom do not automatically detect the camera anymore. However, ViewNX does detect the camera, so apparently it is not only a matter of the camera.
Is there a way to have the D800 behave like a MSC

The French equivalent is MTP/PTP v. "stockage de masse" (mass storage), a menu option which exists in the D300 but is no longer present in more recent cameras.

Recommençons. Le D300 offrait le choix entre MTP et MSC (désolé, mais je ne saurais traduire ces termes), ce qui donnait une grande flexibilité.
Le D800 n'offre que MTP, ce qui veut dire que des logiciels comme Lightroom ne le reconnaissent pas. Si on veut importer avec LR il faut soit passer par ViewNX et ensuite LR soit sortir les cartes mémoire et les introduire manuellement dans l'ordi.

Je suppose que la réponse est donc 'non' jusqu’à Adobe se bouge.

Ce qui est bizarre c'est que le problème se limite à la non-détection du caméra pour un démarrage automatique. Quand je démarre manuellement la module import Détecte bel et bien le D800.
